Angus,
but dvipdfm gives the right result, pdflatex the wrong. Isn`t this an argument against
wrong latex code generated by Lyx?

No, it is this code:
\begin{figure}
\subfigure[Vor Amalgamaufbau an vitalem Zahn 23]{\includegraphics[%
clip,
scale=0.37]{Y:/praxis/Diss/lyx/23_3_Stifte_vital_1286h.eps}} \subfigure[Vor
Amalgamaufbau und Zementierung des Para Post an devitalem Zahn 12]{\includegraphics[%
clip,
scale=0.37]{Y:/praxis/Diss/lyx/12_4Stifte_devital_1286h.eps}}
\caption{Amalgamaufbauten an Frontzhnen\label{cap:Amalgamaufbauten-an-Frontz=E4hnen}}
\end{figure}

Hey, you are writing to a silly Windows-User (Lyx 1.3.2 for Qt). I will not touch my
configuration. I`m happy that dvipdfm is working out of the box as it should and
that`s enough for me.
It has not been my only problem with pdflatex. Pdflatex will not work with hyperref if
I include the following in my preamble (which I need). At the moment it looks like
much too much debugging for me for making pdflatex working on my file.
