Dear All, I'm new to Lyx and Latex, but seeing it's potential I'd really like to get it working. I have obtained the most recent version of Miktex (version 2.3) and installed it on my Windows XP machine, along with Lyx for Win32 from http://www.home.zonnet.nl/rareitsma/lyx/. I've been trying to open the template files using File->New From Template, but in nearly every case I'm told that there is a textclass error, and that I am missing .sty files. Should these files have been installed using the method I described above? Because of their absence, LaTeX will not complete it's run and I do not get the desired output.
On a second note, would anybody be able to tell me how to download and install new document classes and styles? I'd like to use an astrophysical journal document class, but have no idea what to do with the zipped file once I have obtained it. Any help with either of these problems would be gratefully received!
