You didn't get a dictionary (I suppose for spellchecking?) nor
fonts from lyx package under redhat. Concerning other classes
article -- the problem with Debian is that it doesn't (rather
contraintuitively) install all parts of tetex. You have to
install tetex-extra on the top of what you have. After
installing that and running
texhash
(cd /usr/share/lyx/;./configure)
as root, what are you missing?
