after the title which you can, in alternative to lyx introducing by the
following command
\title{\vspace*{50.0mm} my title }
as latex command. From the menu Layout--> latex style.
After put this "\date{}" as latex command too. As a result you'll not have the
date, it works for me, lyx version 1.1.6fix4.
I have never used the author but i think that you should put the author as
latex command too before the string for the title.
