I've encountered this a few times and have found no reasonable explanation for it.. just that references that used to show up suddenly stop showing up... my solution to this (which almost always works) is to manually delete the .bbl file in the working directory and then view DVI/PS/PDF which will re-create the .bbl file.. this may help in your case...
