The new cocoAspell is a convenient system-spellserver with MacOS-10.3, and the package is easier to install than the earlier version, but some functionality has been lost. With the previous version (which only worked with MacOS-10.2), it was possible to make symbolic links from the executable to /usr/local/bin and run "aspell" from the terminal and/or from programs like emacs and LyX. With the new cocoAspell, the symbolic link works from the terminal, but it works only intermittantly from emacs, and refuses to work with LyX/Mac.
I'd appreciate hearing from anyone who has a workaround for getting the new cocoAspell to work with LyX/Mac. Thanks, -- Ronald Florence www.18james.com
