I have been trying to import files from Mac OS X TextEdit into LyX, but all paragraph information is lost. I have read the ASCII section of "LyX Tips and Tricks" which warns that sometimes this happens and gives a solution. Unfortunately, the answer involves Perl and C programming which I know noting about.
If someone could briefly explain either how to implement their suggestions (http://www.educat.hu-berlin.de/~voss/LaTeX/converter.phtml#asciiImport) or solve the problem another way, I'd very much appreciate it. I've got the Mac Developer tools here on disc and have no problem following instructions. Thanks, Peter Ringwood
