You will notice that with many of the gnuwin32 packages, there are 2 different ways to install, either via the .exe file or manually. This version of sed compiled with GNUwin32 properly handles the -i switch under Microsoft Windows. The other ports of GNU sed (by unxutils with MinGW and also by DJGPP) do not handle Windows long filenames and file renaming properly.
