I think the one they are using in the textbooks in not mathbf but mathds
(with \usepackage{dsfont}). So if I put
\usepackage{dsfont}
\newcommand\R{\mathds{R}}
in the preamble and then use \R, it will work. But is there a way to
have LyX display it right (as opposed to a "red" R) ?
