I had usually the best results with exporting to HTML (which can be happily read by any Word newer than Word97 inclusive). There is an unmaintained patch for it available on www.lyx.org (search "tracking change site:lyx.org" on Google), but I really do not think it is compatible with 1.3.3. It will be officially available in 1.4.0, but that it won't be available for a long time, I am afraid.
