  Now I need some guidance on how to use the tilde-over-A as a subscript in
an inline equation. I typed this:

        \textrm{\~ A }=\{(x,\mu_{\textrm{\~ A}}(x))|(x\in U)\}

but it generates errors when compiling.

  I suspect that I did not properly enter the subscript on the right side of
the equation. I don't know if the "\textrm{\~A}" should be in another set of
curly braces.

Thanks,

Rich
