This is great stuff! Thanks for the screenshot and the template 
example, Angus.. I guess I should update my local cvs of lyx and 
check out these new features.. btw, one question - how does the 
conversion from .fig to .pdf take place when pdflatex is run? Does 
it get converted to a bitmap or is the final figure that's included 
in the pdf vector-based?
