Dear list-members!

I decided to use LyX (so that makes me a newbie) and unfortunately my first
document had a 3-page longtable included. Tough start ... :-)

O.k. I managed with the table so far (thanks to Herberts tips ... mail in mid
January) and included it as a tex file into my LyX document. I tried to find
an answer to my following question in the web (mail archive etc.) but didn't
succeed.

Question:
How can I define that the caption should be above the table and uses the same
formating as the caption of the other (float) tables / figures? Right now
it's placed under the table and just a very narrow centred block.

I'm using the article (komma-script) class and in the preamble just this:

\setlength{\abovecaptionskip}{0.5cm}   % 0.5cm as an example
\setlength{\belowcaptionskip}{0.5cm}   % 0.5cm as an example
\usepackage{longtable}

The caption is included in the tex file as follows:
\begin{longtable}{llcccc}
\hline
[... cut ...]
\hline
\caption{Caption text}
\end{longtable}

Thank you very much,
Thies
