Sorry this has taken so long, Daniel. I don't have the APA latex classes installed on this machine, so have changed the doc class to Article. I've also changed the name of the bibtex database stored in the BibTeX inset to "daniel". Thereafter, if daniel.lyx and daniel.bib are in the same directory, all works perfectly.
