I added this to the page, but just to be on the safe side. What you mean 
is that you should insert an ERT inset with \frontmatter and then write 
the frontmatter stuff, followed by an ERT with \mainmatter etc. And this 
will automatically produce roman pagenumbers for the frontmatter?
