Dear Cho (is this your first name?),

I have helped myself by putting the following into the Layout -> Latex 
preamble:

[EMAIL PROTECTED]
  [EMAIL PROTECTED]
    {\raggedsection \ifnum [EMAIL PROTECTED] >[EMAIL PROTECTED]
        [EMAIL PROTECTED] 
           [EMAIL PROTECTED]
        \interlinepenalty [EMAIL PROTECTED] #1\par}}
    \nobreak\chapterheadendvskip
  }}

I don't remember how this works but I guess it is  "[EMAIL PROTECTED]" that contains 
the string "Chapter" or "Appendix", depending on the context.

However, this will also change your chapters to
"Chapter 1. Your-topic, etc."

If you don't want this to happen, put the code as "red latex code" just before 
the appendix (after the last chapter) instead of in the preamble.
