Hi,
I installed the Lyx Win32 on my computer. Everything seems to work fine now, except for printing.
A simple question - how can I print? I go to print - then I see an empty Printer destination. Do I have to put something in there? Anyway, and oh... the second problem - when I try to see a document in postscript, I get an error message: OpenPrinter() failed for "wap", error code = 1801.
Does anyone know what this means and how to solve it?
Many thanks in advance
Tom
The following assumes that you have a Postscript printer defined as one of your Windows printers, and that its name contains no spaces. (If the printer name, as displayed in the "Printers and Faxes" applet, contains spaces, you can edit the name there and remove the spaces.) In LyX, go to Edit | Preferences | Outputs | Printer and enter the Windows name for the printer in the "Printer name:" box. Defaults in all other entries work for me.
For what it's worth, I don't print from the LyX file menu. Every viewer program in Windows has a print command, so I'll display the output in whichever viewer is appropriate (yap for DVI output, Acrobat Reader for PDF output) and print from there. It reduces the likelihood I waste paper and ink printing the wrong thing.
