I think i have figured out how to use Bibdesk with Lyx. I had some initial difficulty in choosing the right Style for the references in Lyx. The "apalike" style seems to work fine now. Are there other Style files that can be added to the current list that one should be aware of? Thanks,
It all depends what kind of writing you do. The styles that ship with the standard LaTeX distribution tend to be weighted heavily to the maths and the physical sciences, so you might want to go to your local CTAN mirror and check out other styles (MLA, Chicago, Harvard etc.) although some of these can be achieved through other styles (e.g. I use jurabib to emulate Chicago).
