The default resembles tradtional book layout without indendation for cases where it is clear a new paragraph begins (headings, after a quote, ...). Some people and publishers prefere every paragraph to be indented, also if this means redundancy. If I remember right, there is a latex package to toggle that behaviour. As I happen to prefer the default, I forgot the name, might be something like noindent or firstindent. G�nter -- G.Milde web.de
