This is good, but I also reccomend -- for free -- the excellent program Writer2LaTeX:

You need Open Office for that. An advantage is that it works both under Linux and 
under windows. So:
(1) Open the Word file with Open Office;
(2) Save as LaTeX.

That's all. It works normally like a charm.
