Individual LaTeX packages tend not to use rpm. Try grabbing babel http://www.ctan.org/tex-archive/macros/latex/required/babel/ Read 00readme.txt and install.txt. Doesn't look too bad. Herbert will probably suggest installing TeXLive in place of your existing teTeX installation. From what I can gather about TeXLive, it's a little like a CVS repository in that it is continually updated. So, 'update' every now and again will replace a few files at a time. -- Angus
