start lyx without toolbar or minibuffer

I'd like to know whether there's a way of editing the default.ui file 
so that LyX/Mac starts without either the minibuffer or toolbar 
visible, since I don't use either of them.

Is there also some way to change the size of the window LyX starts up 
with?
