I'm trying to use the package caption, which is in my LATEX installation, but LYX doesn't want to see it. Doing the "Reconfigure" command, I obtained a very short list of package

+checking for package natbib [natbib]... no
+checking for package graphicx [graphicx]... yes In the LATEX ls-R file, I have much more packages, including caption.sty.
How is it possible to tell LYX to use the packages I want ?

this is only a check for packages, which LyX _directly_ supports

(I put obviously \usepackage[...]{caption}in my Preamble, but It has no
effect).

then it is not in your local texmf tree. What does kpsewhich caption.sty say?
