Anyway, I think it�s a nicer solution to include a newer �MSYS� sed. But I still don�t know why this is needed.
Because with the current one (3.02) the creation of the file \lyx\share\lyx\docs\LaTeXConfig.lyx fails (0 length), so you can't view the LaTeX configuration from the Help menu in LyX. Are you not seeing this problem with your setup? Lots of people ran into it. Check out this thread as well:

The problem is with DOS's ^M characters which the old sed and libintl do not handle well. GnuWin32 version works, but not when it's in \lyx\bin?
This isn't a showstopper or a big deal, but should be solved and fixed at some point.
