You really do not want to redefine \normalfont!!! The commands which may
need redefining are
\renewcommand{\rmdefault}{sld}
\renewcommand{\sfdefault}{phv}
\renewcommand{\ttdefault}{pcr}
Which sets default ``roman'' font to Lido
(http://www.cstug.cz/stormtype/slido.html -- cleaned up version of Times
New Roman), Sans-serif font to Helvetica, and ``teletype'' (i.e.,
non-proportional) font to Courier.
