I think that the long term solution is to retire all the shell scripts that are used when running LyX and replace them with python ones. (We require python anyway for lyx2lyx.) The list isn't very long. In LyX 1.3.x, I see these files in addition to lib/configure: lib/scripts/TeXFiles.sh lib/scripts/convertDefault.sh If there are any python gurus out there willing to step up to the plate, that would be great! -- Angus
