IMHO, the lyx wiki would be the right place for such user-provided hints. Maybe we could start a section for tex2lyx (or even for relyx, as long as we have to live with it) e.g. in http://wiki.lyx.org/pmwiki.php/Tips/Tips

That's a great idea. Looking at the wiki, maybe use the latex page (which seems natural and is pretty empty) instead of tips?
