No. Sorry.

This part of the code is much more flexible now, however, so although you
won't be able to do this in 1.4.x either, there is hope for the future. If
you file a bugzilla report then it won't get forgotten...

different color?

In the former case, go with ERT.
In the latter case, considering redefining a color you don't use.
If you're sure you won't need "red" for example, just redefine "red"
to the color you need. You can then use red text and get the color
you want, without the need for ERT. (Do the redefinition of red in the preamble.)
