well, i have never compiled lyx before and the default configure uses
xforms (there need to be a note in the INSTALL file that qt-frontend is
preferable!). 

i use linux/debian and yes, lyx is precompiled but not the lyx 1.3.5 version -
yet.

you can add debian packages (lyx 1.3.4) to the list too:
