On windows I've been using the MikTex/Winedt combo, which works pretty well and was easy enough to install. Anyone have any experience with either of these. I like them, MikTex allows one to update Latex packages fairly easily and WinEdt is powerful but w/a bit of a learning curve w/regard to some of its macro & similar facilities.

My concern is w/regard to the MAC OS which I know so little about: if I'm required to place something in some app directory, etc, as part of the install, that's where I may go off track...
