Ok

Your original version didnt work for me....but I have got it to work for you - well at least on my machine.

You have inserted the Table Of Contents under the Author environment and Latex doesnt know what to do.

I have attached the corrected version with TOC as Standard but it is an easy change to make in your version if you want to do it that way.

Subject: When trying to compile DVI, PDF or PS, Lyx freezes

Hi All,

I hope someone can help me with a problem I'm having. I'm using Lyx
1.3.4 on Debian Sarge, which until now has been brilliant for writing
my final year project reports. I've just been trying to complete a
write-up of a group project, but I can't get any kind of useful
output!

What happens is this -- I can open the file fine and make changes or
whatever, but when I Ctrl-D to create the DVI, or Export to PDF or PS,
the application freezes and doesn't recover. I've left it overnight
(in case it was just taking time to process) and still no luck.

I've searched around a bit and can't find any trace of other people
having similar problems. Does anyone have any ideas at all please?

If you'd like to try it yourself, the .lyx file can be found here:
http://www.bath.ac.uk/~cs1mjaw/CM30141/HCI-Backup-Corrected.lyx (the
.bib file there is only needed for the Bibliography). The other two
files (the PS and PDF) were from earlier in the process when I
converted an interim version -- so it has worked at some point and it
still works on my other documents I have!

Heartily confused, any help greatly appreciated!

Thanks
Meri
