I'm busy trying to package up LyX/Win 1.3.6 and one of the things
that entails is associating a couple of 32x32 pixel icons with
lyx.exe and with .lyx files. Now Windows can associate multiple
images at different color depths with each, so I've started off
with 16 color and 256 color images. If we were feeling really
adventurous, we could also have 16million color images.

I attach my pathetic attempts at each. Basically, I started with
orig_48x48_16colors.png and orig_96x96.png, also attached.

Is there anybody out there who'd like to turn my rather feeble
efforts into something professional looking? (It would benefit us
all, not just the Windows users...)

If anyone is interested in taking up this challenge, feel free to
post your efforts here or upload them to this wiki page:

I like this geeky platypus!

May it be an idea to offer svg icons too?
AFAIK thee are more and more X-Window managers which are able to display svg icons. And there is no need for several sizes of png icons anymore.

Here is an svg icon that is part of (I think) the etiquette icon theme.

Enjoy.
