Well, a2ping has tendency to die a lot. I took me some time to get it to do what I wanted. Try to play with it in command line and see when it works for you. The problem above has something to do with papersize. Are you still using scaling factor 2? It might produce pictures larger than pagesize. Does it work with 1?
