I installed the Windows version of Lyx on my machine. However, when I try to start up Lyx, I get an error message that says "lyx wasn't able to find any layout description... Check the contents of the file "textclass.lst"". I looked at textclass.lst in .../lyx/share/lyx but I really have no idea what I'm looking for.
(Also, when I first started up Lyx, and tried to install the ieeetrans package from the internet, the program started thrashing the disk and eventually just died. The above is the mssage I get when I subsequently start it up again) thanks
