A short glance shows that it is not explicitely stated in amsldoc.pdf, but I know for sure that my statement is true. Maybe it is mentioned in Herberts pages at http://www.texnik.de, or in Uwes excellent LyX math guide (german only, at http://wiki.lyx.org/LyX/LyXMathebefehle). Georg
