Hi I am writing a research paper and the journal requires a two-column format. However figures may span the columns. I have a figure that is rather wide and so would like it to span the columns.
If I select span columns in the placement options box of the float this works but whichever other options I chose the figure always ends up on a page of floats. Ideally I would like it to span the bottom of the page where I originally put the float. Does anyone know a handy way of doing this. Geoff
