You need to make some minor modifications in order to make ps4pdf
working fine. (Give a look at my examples.) But, to avoid such a
modifications, you can simply install pst-pdf. Download it from CTAN.
After installing pst-pdf, you should replace
\usepackage{ps4pdf}
with
\usepackage{pst-pdf}
With pst-pdf, you still need to use PDF4. (This is the reason why it
is always needed to install ps4pdf.)
