Hi, I have installed Lyx/Mac osX, and I have already had tetex. However, lyx does not seem to generate any output through view --> dvi or any other
options.
I tried to change the settings in the preferences dialog for outputfile-->
viewer with different applications, but still no change.
I tried to reconfigure lyx under edit panel. but when i launch the Lyx
afterthat it looses all the document clases and no output is available.
can anybody help?.
p.s latex works fine under texshop.

First problem: If you have a default viewer for .dvi files specified in OS X, then it should be enough to set Preferences > File formats > DVI > Viewer to "open". If that doesn't work, try exporting to DVI (File > Export > DVI), and a .dvi file should appear in the same directory as the file you're currently working on. (If not, then we'll have to investigate separately....) From the Finder, select the .dvi file, and choose File > Get Info ... Make sure some appropriate application is selected under the "Open with" section of the Info dialog -- and make sure it's selected as the default application (by clicking on the "Change All..." button). That should do the trick, provided you've made LyX's DVI viewer be "open" as specified above.

Does that work?

Second problem: Losing all document classes. Apparently (for reasons that aren't clear to me but which I can't debug w/o 10.4), users of 10.4 need to reconfigure and restart twice in succession for LyX to find everything it needs to. ... At least that seems to be the case in other circumstances, and I wonder if it is so in yours.
