  Oh. Since I upgraded hardware almost two years ago (from a PII/333MHz to
Athlon XP+1700 and Athlon XP+2800), I assumed I was the last to move from
7-year-old hardware.

  I suspect that Qt seems sluggish because it's object oriented and,
therefore, large. I think that all OO apps will appear sluggish on older
hardware; they're not as tight and elegant as straight C code running in a
curses environment on the console.
