Did you run the installer script?
The problem is likely that your "PATH prefix" setting (LyX >
Preferences > Paths > PATH Prefix) is not what it should be. (The
installer script should have made the appropriate change.)
If you haven't run the installer script, you'll need to delete (or
better yet, temporarily rename and later delete if everything goes
well) the LyX users directory at ~/Library/Application Support/LyX,
and then run the installer script (which will move your LyX users
directory from its old location at ~/.lyx to the new location, as
well as make appropriate changes to the preferences file).
If you have run the script and still experience this problem, make
sure that PATH prefix is set to:
/usr/bin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/local/teTeX/bin/powerpc-apple-darwin-
current:/usr/X11R6/bin:/sw/bin:/opt/local/teTeX/bin
