New Bibliography Label

I'm setting up LyX for my son to use at University and need to change 
the label for the bibliography. I have found several commands to put 
into the preamble but they don't work. I am using LyX vers. 1.3.5

I have tried putting this command into the preamble:
\renewcommand\refname{Works Cited}

Any help would be appreciated. I've read a bunch of manuals.
