Jim, I think you need to explain yourself to me more fully. Are you
having problem with the LyX on your FreeBSD machine? If so, are you
having problems running it locally or are the problems when you run
it over the network and use cygwin on a Windows box to display it?

Anyway, Stephen, what's all this about LyX not running on Cygwin? LyX
runs perfectly well on Cygwin. Kayvan Sylvan does so daily. Uses it
too in preference to the Windows port.
