Thanks.  

I did try to convert to 1.3.6 today.   No good.   My
powerdot .lyx files will not convert.   Looks like I
get an error when it tries to run clean_dvi.py


So it is back to 1.3.5 for now.   I somehow messed up
my converts on 1.3.5.   I think I pretty much have
them back to normal.    


Now I have this and it seems to  be working OK:


EPS -> PDF : epstopdf --outfile=$$o $$i
DVI -> Postscript : dvips -t seascape -o $$o $$i
DVI -> PDF (dvipdfm) : dvipdfm $$i
Postscript -> PDF : ps2pdf -dCompatibilityLevel=1.3
$$i
LaTeX->PDF (pdflatex): pdflatex $$i
