Math in OS X

Dear all,

i have another problem with Lyx again.
When im entering in Math Mode \approx there in Lyx there is written  
in blue
1/4 and if i type \pm there is a paragraph sign. In Mathpreview it  
look alright again and in the pdf.

What's wrong?
