PDF problems

Hola,

I have a 60 pages lyx document with a lot of figures (raster colour figures 
in jpg format). When I do "View-->PDF" it takes about five minutes to 
"render" completely. I've been reading the help files and I have tried with 
"View-->PDF(pdflatex)". Now it is more faster, it takes about 10-15 seconds 
to "render" the document. But there are some important problems:

a- the size of the figures changes in the output when I use pdflatex. And 
the most strange is that it happens sometimes; if after I render to 
"View-->PDF" and I come back to "View-->PDF(pdflatex)" again, sometimes 
(not always) the figures have the right size, like in the "View-->PDF" output.

b- my files are 16 bit coloured. With "View-->PDF" they appear correctly, 
but with "View-->PDF(pdflatex)" colours change strangely, and it seems 
there is a loss in the colour depth.

I use lyx 1.3.5 in suse 9.0. Could somebody help me ? Could somebody tell 
me how to obtain the same output with "View-->PDF(pdflatex)" than with 
"View-->PDF" ?
