The installation fails, saying it can't run the configure script.
There is no checking of + items located on the dos screen, that doesn't happen. Afterwards the LyX icon appears but gives that message about missing textclass.lst I used only the defaults. Then I tried C:\LyX and that didn't work. So I uninstalled and went back to 1.3.6 stable.
That seemed to work ok except it picked up my gsview32.exe
in the XemTex sub-directory and wouldn't display. So I changed
the format file path of Postscript from gsview32 to
C:\program files\ghostgum\gsview\gsview32
that gave me an error message about no such thing as "program"
I tried C:\"program files"\ghostgum\gsview\gsview32 which
worked once, but after closing LyX and reopening it broke to C:
Changing Path prefix didn't work either. So I uninstalled gsview and reinstalled it in C:\ghostgum\gsview which ended the problem. Maybe the 1.3.7pre5 release fixes this.

So 1.3.6 works but there is some change in the 1.3.7 series that
doesn't allow me to complete an installation. There is no change
in my system in the 5 minutes it takes me to have a failed install
with 1.3.7 and a working one with 1.3.6, though I seem to recall
that 1.3.7_1 worked with the default C:\program files\LyX

Stephen
