Hi

Just to let people know. Uwe fixed LyX.Windows (thanks!) and to avoid
conflicts with references to the group Windows/, there is now a page called:

        [[LyX on Windows]]

similary I renamed some pages for Mac and Linux, leaving us with

        [[LyX on Linux]]
        [[LyX on Mac]]
        [[LyX on Mac-X11]]

So if I only knew that I could delete LyX.WindowsSetup I'd be happy :-)

/Christian

And as before:

PS. If someone has objections against any of the above, let me know. All
these changes can be reversed.

Christian,

I think that both WindowsSetup and WindowsSetup98ME (which seems to cover only up to version 1.3.3) can be deleted. It might be worthwhile asking Luis Rivera if we need a WindowsSetup9598ME to cover how Angus's installer works (and any modifications needed) for those versions of Windows. I know that Luis has been working with Angus to get LyX to install and run properly on antique versions of Windows, but I haven't actually been following their threads on the developer list.

I also think that the Windows.Instantpreview page is expendable, since the tweak there is for Ruurd's installer (version 1.3.3) and does not appear to be needed by Angus's installer (and hopefully not by Uwe's).

I wonder if someone should edit the LyX on Windows page to spell out, up front, the fact that two installers exist and how they differ. Otherwise, a newbie will either take the "first port of call" hint and end up on a page that steers them to Angus's installer, or else randomly lands on one and does not know about the other.

Cheers,

Paul
