Christoph, I don't do buttons, but if you look in ~/.lyx/bind/ you'll find a couple of files that define shortcut keys. In my case, ctrl-v is used to page down one screen, so I defined shift-ctrl-v to paste. I also redefined ctrl-b for bold and ctrl-i for italic. Works for me. Create something that works for you.
