(I assume that you mean "editing a LyX file by hand" is a bad idea rather than "having a syntax file for LyX files".) Why? I do this all the time (with care, of course). When I need to change 75 instances of "my_images.eps" to "my_images.tif", etc. Or whenever I need to do any search-and-replace that involves ERTs -- let's say, for example, that I want to replace all references to "Tiros-Translations" with "Tiros-\hspace{-0.1em}Translations" -- or is this now possible from within LyX in newer versions? -Kevin -- Kevin Pfeiffer <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Tiros-Translations
