You're right. LyX crashed all the time. I reinstalled LyX 1.3 and
reinstalled LyX 1.4 and now LyX is installed correctly (no files in ~/
Library/Applications Support/LyX-1.4/bind,...). But LyX is still to
slow. Back to LyX 1.3 :-(

Those files should *not* be copied there; they should simply be
deleted from ~/Library/Application Support/LyX-1.4/.... The ones
located within LyX.app will be found automatically if you just
enter "mac.bind" and "default.ui" in the preferences.
